- פַּרְדָּנִית
- פַּרְדָּנִיתf. (פָּרַד; cmp. פֶּרֶד II) a woman that goes out alone, run-about. Tanḥ. Vayesheb 6 לא מן הרגל שלא תהא פדרנית (transpos. of פרד׳) the Lord did not create woman out of Adams foot, that she might no be inclined to run about; (Gen. R. s. 18, a. e. פַּרְסָנִית). Tanḥ. Vayishl. 5 בשביל שהיתה רגילה פדר׳וכ׳ because she was in the habit of going out alone, she brought disgrace upon herself. Ylamd. to Gen. 34:1, quot. in Ar. פרדנית, as Var. of פרסנית q. v.
